Located just beyond Allston, Brighton is a less lively, fairly quiet neighborhood with peaceful nighttime volumes. Multi-family homes and condominiums lines the streets of this welcoming neighborhood, located in the northwest corner of Boston. Local family businesses mix with national chains of pharmacies and banks along Brighton’s Washington Street, which runs straight through Brighton Center to Oak Square. St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and the Franciscan Children’s Hospital also call Brighton home. Graduate students, young professionals and families flock to Brighton for its tranquil yet dynamic atmosphere.
Although further outside of downtown Boston, there are numerous transportation options available in the Brighton neighborhood. Both the T’s Green B & C lines run through Commonwealth Ave and Beacon Street. In addition, a variety of bus lines (57, 64, 65, 501, 503) are accessible leading into the city, express to the financial district and across the river into Cambridge.
